Watson Plum Spread--Jay Freer Processed Fruits
Watson Plum Spread is named in honor of John Watson, the long-time plum breeder at the Geneva Station of Cornell University. The plum spread is similar to jam, but contains less sugar than jam, and is made primarily out of the fruit of the NY 111 plum. It has a pleasantly tart and fruity flavor. This unusual treat is made here in Geneva, New York, by Freer Processed Fruits.
Ingredients: plums, sugar, water, pectin, and sodium citrate.
